Unity, wholeness
Wholeness is symbolised in fairy tales by the ball or by something else round, such as the apple. Graphically it is represented by a circle or a ball. The golden ball or the golden apple symbolise wholeness and eternal life, because gold is a symbol of eternity. In myths, the apple is the fruit of the goddess of love. Love has the power to unite the most extreme opposites, to make them one.
From the unity of male and female, body and soul, spirit and matter, new life and new reality emerge.
Unity and wholeness are on the highest level of the objective scale of values, because their symbols can no longer be distinguished from the image of God. (Quote from C.G. Jung)
